The President's Message
Volume 15, Issue 4
From Dick Weimer

October - 2013

Our small group of dedicated members has been the catalyst to our success thus far. We recently celebrated our fifteenth anniversary and can look back with pride on many important accomplishments. Our “15 for 15” campaign for future support of the History Center is still about $3,000 short of our goal. There will be several opportunities to meet this goal in the last quarter of 2013. We can accomplish this goal with a few more helping hands.

I would hope to see more current and new members get involved in Society projects and activities. Ideas on the drawing board include publishing a History of Randolph Township with Arcadia Press in 2015, and completing the digitization of the Society’s collections and membership records with PastPerfect Museum software during the next year. Perhaps you have an idea for a program or exhibit floating around in your head. We can work together to make it happen. Why not invite a new prospective member to a future meeting? That person may have just the skills we need. Remember our historical society is only as strong as its weakest link.

I will be stepping down as your president at the end of this year. My tenure has been interesting and enjoyable, and I thank you for the opportunity you bestowed on me. Having experienced the loss of my soul mate, I am taking more time away from the local area. However, I will continue to be a major supporter of this fine organization and urge your support of our upcoming activities.
