The President's Message
Volume 17, Issue 4
From Glynn Marsh

October - 2015
As Fall approaches, things at the History Center are starting to wind down and many of us are looking forward to a little “down time.” Thanks to everyone who worked hard all year to keep the Center going and growing. I want to especially thank the four directors and officers whose terms will expire at the end of 2015. We hope some will want to continue serving in 2016-17. A nominating committee has been appointed to present a slate of candidates at the October meeting for voting in November. Please say yes if contacted by a member of the committee. We are seeking people with energy and fresh ideas to further our mission. Is that you?

Check out photos in this newsletter to see activities held since July - two special history programs, final installation of the Randolph School stone architectural ornaments, addition of “snow-eagles” on the metal roof, and improvements to the kitchen area  Tree trimmers came in September to remove limbs hanging over the new roof that might cause damage – and there’s more. Soon, Randy Hartman, owner of Vital Signs in Clayton, will be installing four historical photographs that used to be on display at the Englewood Meijer’s Store. Meijer’s decided the pictures (the largest of which is 33” high x 9’ long and shows a class at Randolph in the 1920s), were no longer needed and donated them to RTHS. Why not plan a visit to the Center to see these new additions to our displays before scheduled Saturday afternoon Visitors Hours end on November 28?
