The President's Message
Volume 18, Issue 1
From Doris West

January - 2016

Welcome to the New Year. I hope all your holidays were happy.

A snippet about me: born in Dayton, raised near Trotwood, moved to Englewood in 1968. I have been married to Jack for 50 years, and have two grown children, who live a couple of blocks from us, and two grandsons. I retired from IRS, Criminal Investigation Division, after 25 years. (Will you still be my friend?)

I joined RTHS because I am interested in my ancestors (some who may have lived in this area as far back as the early 1800s)—but more about that later.
I invite you to join me at the center and perhaps teach me a thing or two. Bear with me as I tackle the year as President. It promises to be a time of stretching myself. Let's all have a new year of new experiences as we are helping the Society and thereby learning new things.

We want to increase attendance at our regular monthly meetings, so we have made two changes in our operating procedures: (1) we will be having short mini-history programs at regular meetings beginning in February, and (2) a calling committee will be contacting our local members each month to remind you of meeting days, times, and planned programs.

And of course, don't forget the good refreshments.

Doris West
