The President's Message
Volume 19, Issue 2

From Doris West

April - June 2017

The History Center now has a telephone (937-832-8538) and an answering machine. Now you may call and leave a message. We also have an e-mail address: rths@frontier.com.

We are interested in the genealogy of the people who have been or are presently "the movers and shakers" of our three cities. In our archives room are cemetery readings of this area, directories, genealogy books, family trees, and family artifacts. Also, in the last few years, we have clipped newspaper obituaries of those having connections to our area. We also have interest in any pictures or paperwork, such as old deeds, of the older farms and businesses.

Please make an appointment to see if we have anything to help in your research. Bring your laptop as we now have WiFi. If you have researched your family who was rooted in our area for numerous years, please let us copy your family tree. You never know; one day far into the future one of your relatives may contact us while researching your family line.

We need more glass-front display cases to replace some tables. If you or someone you know has some nice ones to donate (or would be willing to let go at a small price), we will see if they would meet our needs.

You might say that although we are nestled into the past here, we like to feel that we have one foot forward towards the future!
